Treaty Ports: Shanghai, 1867 (20 Sept.) printed "Olyphant & Co.'s Shanghae Prices Current" wrapper (with contents) to Connecticut, U.S.A. "Via Marseille" bearing 6c. lilac tied "B62", showing handstruck U.S. upright "4" (Hubbard and Winter Type 282) and "2/cents" adjacent, rated "3", an extremely fine printed matter usage with a vibrantly coloured stamp unusually to U.S.A., lovely, the upright "4" handstamp is earlier than recorded by Hubbard and Winter (9.70-12.71) and the only known Hong Kong or Treaty Port cover with this New York Exchange Office upright "4" accountancy mark (one later Hong Kong cover recorded with New York Exchange Office slanted "4" handstamp).
