Expertisation: K.L. Poon certificate (1998).

TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS THE LARGEST MULTIPLE OF THIS RARITY AND PROBABLY THE ONLY SURVIVING BLOCK OF FOUR.

Prepared for the sixth anniversary of Chairman Mao's writings for the Japanese, this issue was cancelled due to objections from the Japanese government that it could be construed as incitement of the Japanese populace with revolutionary ideas.

The post office at Hebei, however, had already begum selling stamps prior to the official issuance date and before the order was given to cancel the issue and return the stamps to Beijing.

Realized HK$ 8,970,000
