Lot 2160 Japanese Occupation of China, 1941 (30 June) registered censored envelope from Tientsin to New York (24-25.7) via Shanghai (8.7) and Honolulu (21.7) bearing on reverse Dr. Sun Yat-sen $1 (8) and Martyrs 50c., cancelled by bilingual c.d.s., showing "Air-Transit/2" double-ring h.s. in blue, with Hong Kong censor label, a few cover faults due to rough opening and flimsy nature of envelope, an important usage, since June 1941 envelopes from North China and Mengkiang demonstrate which stamps were in stock at the various post offices, and once the overprinted stamps arrived at the post office to replace these, then all the remaining unoverprinted stamps were shipped to Peking.

"Swedish Consulate General Shanghai" corner card registered airmail envelope to the Belgian Embassy in Peking (28.10) bearing Central China Dual Currency 20s. on $1 watermarked Hong Kong Air and on reverse Dr. Sun Yat-sen Chung Hwa printing 10c. and Hong Kong Martyr 20c. on thin mesh paper block of six, cancelled by 'Shanghai bilingual c.d.s., two Martyr stamps crossed by light filing fold, envelope opened out for display, fine mixed usage, the Dual Currency Air stamp paying the airmail fee and the unoverprinted stamps paying the $1.30 rate for a registered letter, these unoverprinted stamps being used just prior to the issue of the Central China "Temporarily Sold" surcharged stamps in November.

Lot 2165 Japanese Occupation of China, 1943 (4 Dec.) registered express envelope from Occupied Kiangsu Province to Peking (8.12) bearing on reverse North China Half Value surcharge 4c. on 8c. Dah Tung Dr. Sun Yat-sen perf. 13½ pair and single and 20c. on 40c. New Peking Martyr vertical strip of three, cancelled by "Haichow" dotted rim d.s., fine. The 4c. on 8c. Dah Tung perforation variety is rare on cover and the cancellation ascribes its usage to Kiangsu rather than the normal designation of Supei District, whereas most mail North China mail used in Kiangsu originates from Suchow, which is in the opposite part (northern) of Supei.
