Pkt." c.d.s. on reverse, carried from Manila to Hong Kong on the next-to-the-last voyage of the Rajah and then carried on the P&O Line Malabar from Hong Kong to Galle, Simla from Galle to Suez and Vectis from Alexandria to Marseille, and, in turn, by the Inman Line's City of Baltimore from Liverpool to New York and showing the earliest recorded date of this "Boston/Am. (less 15a. on16a., 12a. on 14a. used), 1938 Colonial Common Design regular issue and airmail sets (1p. and 2p. regular issues and 1a. airmail used), 1948 Views of Macau unissued 1p. ultramarine, 1950-51 Views of Macau (2nd Series), Various Portraits, Junks of Macau, a few bisects on piece, 1936 Airmail 2a. to 15a., Postage Dues with 1947 Imperio Colonial Portugues 1a. to 1p. and Charity Tax, mixed condition with some toning throughout, most of the issues from 1942 suffer from having been stuck down in glassine-backed stock book pages or mounts (with a few still stuck in mounts) and many have glassine paper attached to their backs and a number have colour bleeding from the damp (the 1947 postage dues being an exception to these qualifications); also included is a Portuguese Colonies U.P.U. presentation booklet that includes a second set of the Macao 1951 Various Portraits and Junks of Macau sets and post-War sets from other Portuguese Colonies (including Angola Birds) that are also stuck down to the glassine-backed pages, careful inspection required (approx. 370).
