Lot 2479 South Korea, 1946 Presentation Album, with printed text and stamps comprising Japan overprinted 5ch. on 5s. to 5w. on 17s. set of five in unmounted mint sheets of 100, along with single unused examples affixed to individual printed pages, the five rare unissued essays (20ch. on 20s., 50ch. on 50s., 1w. on 15s., 1w. on 1y., and 10w. on 8s.) unused similarly affixed, and the Emancipation 3ch. to 1w. in unmounted mint sheets of 100, stamps fine to very fine and fresh, some splitting and other minor edge wear on outer album cover, an extremely rare album in a very nice state of preservation, believed to be the finest extant.

From an original sheet of one hundred of each of the rare essays, five horizontal strips of five and twenty five single examples were affixed in presentation albums (30 albums in total) and the remaining fifty examples were overprinted "Specimen". There have been rumours of a subsequent find of additional examples of the essays. The examples in the presentation albums are of course of undisputable provenance, with few intact albums apparently having survived.

Lot 2480 Korean War Propaganda Leaflets, The comprehensive collection of Korean-language leaflets from the U.S. forces aimed at the North Korean troops and population, including newspaper-types, handbills, safe conduct passes, and streamers, along with leaflets, large-size posters (approx. 50) and calendars directed for the South Korean populace, nearly all with U.S. Military Intelligence translation sheets, collected by serial number, including a nearly complete run of the newspaper "digests" (the "Parachute News" and subsequent "Free World Weekly Digest") and the very popular leaflets to pilots to defect with their aircraft (4, including two Russian language), the collection concludes with leaflets for the immediate post-War campaign against insurgents in the South and a few issues of weekly 1956 "Rehabilitation News" news sheet aimed at the South Korean population, many are in colour and likewise many of the illustrations were drawn by well-known Korean artists, the leaflets in a very nice state of preservation, most with filing punch holes (that do not overly detract) or affixed to file pages, with the paper on the translation sheets aged (as to be expected given the nature of the paper), a marvelous collection that could not be duplicated (approx. 1,050).

Lot 2482 Korean War Propaganda Leaflets, The collection of leaflets from the Korean People's Army (North Korean forces) and the Chinese People's Volunteers (People's Republic of China forces) for U.S. and other U.N. forces and the South Korean Army, including safe conduct passes, with leaflets in English, Korean (many with U.S. Military Intelligence translation sheets) and even one in Greek (approx. 130), along with contemporary official photostatic copies of additional leaflets (30), with accompanying Military Intelligence translation sheets, and some ephemera, including an English-language 1953 propaganda diary, Armistice press pass, North Korean soldier's ID, Chinese soldier's ID, a Chinese forces pocket notebook and a cloth Christmas gift bag from the Chinese People's Volunteers; also included are 1960s leaflets (16, including two contemporary photographed copies on translation sheets) for the South Korean population and forces, again with U.S. Military Intelligence translation sheets, and a leaflet concerning the 1968 U.S.S.
