Lot 734 China (People's Republic), 1968 Red Guard printed notebook containing 1968 Directives of Chairman Mao complete set in se-tenant strip of four and the first stamp in a single affixed to one of its pages, cancelled by Quangzhou c.d.s. tying the stamps to the page, stamps are fresh with some shiny patches (from adhesive used to affix) and without visible defects. Also similarly affixed on other pages and tied by the same cancellation are 1965 People's Liberation Army, 1966 First Sports Meet, 1967 Our Great Teacher, and 1968 Revolutionary Literature and Art sets and 1968 Lin Biao Inscription, some light staining or soiling on some (mainly the P.L.A. set) as to be expected from this kind of object, stamps overall visually sound with fresh colours, one page from book cut out, a fine and fascinating piece from this important and sought-after early period in the Cultural Revolution.
